Lauren + Walker: Coxhall Gardens//Carmel,IN

Lauren & Walker traveled quite a way to get their engagement photos done. They live in Louisville and came all the way up to Carmel for some beautiful photos at Coxhall Gardens. They started off kind of timid in front of the camera, but by the end of the hour I had them fully running in the open grass and basically tackling one another.

They were very sweet with one another and I could really see the love they had for each other through their photos.

Masey + Austin: Holcomb Gardens//Indianapolis,IN

Mother Nature decided to be funny this year and decided not to have spring this year. Masey + Austin were troopers though. It may be spring, but it sure felt like winter on this fine April Saturday.

Usually with my clients I like to give them the option to pick their engagement location, but most trust my judgement and let me select the location. I have wanted to shoot at Holcomb Gardens on Butler University’s campus for quite some time. I had seen other Indy photographers go there, so I thought why not take a stab at it.

It is gorgeous, even in the winter/spring! We did a lot of action prompts to keep them moving and to keep them cold. I really love when a couple shows off their true self in a session. My favorite images are the ones where you forget the camera is actually there and I get a glimpse of your relationship.

Scroll through and check out for yourself!

Cassie Beach Portraits: Clearwater Beach//Clearwater, FL

So of course when I was packing for vacation I made sure to place my camera in the bag. I feel like every time I go on a trip now a days I make sure to have my little sidekick in hand. I knew that coming to Florida would have advantages, not just for the amazing suntan I obtained, but for that golden hour on the beach!!! If you don't know what the golden hour is, it's like the best time ever to take photos for photographers. It's that last glimpse of the sun before it sets for the evening. Seeming that it was ONLY 55 degrees when we shot these, my sister was a trooper for letting me drag her into the ocean. We shot on the exact same beach two years ago for her senior photos and omg what a transformation. This just puts it in perspective to not give up on yourself and to keep striving to do better. To say we killed it on this photo shoot is an understatement. Talk about a glow up!!

Brown County State Park Engagement

Charlie and Eli were great to work with. Bracing the cold like champs, they played around with one another and had fun. They took direction very well, even when I requested they play tag. The Brown County State Park was a great backdrop for this shoot and I am so glad they decided to travel all the way down south for it!

Claire & Nic

So If I had to rate this year's sessions I would have to place this one on my top 5. I am all about the simplicity of scenery, and this random field off the side of the road did just that. With a couple of months emailing back-and-forth, Claire and I finally agreed on a date that would be semi warm and sunny. Claire and Nic did great in front of the camera, and I could see them start to loosen up as we kept taking photos. So thank you to you both for traveling all the way from Carmel for your pictures! I can't wait to shoot your wedding next fall!
